Joe Lombardo has served as Governor of Nevada since 2023. Before becoming governor, he served as Clark County Sheriff for six years, overseeing law enforcement in the Las Vegas metropolitan area including during the 2017 Route 91 Harvest festival mass shooting.
Democratic
Aaron Ford has served as Nevada's Attorney General since 2019, making him the first Black attorney general in Nevada history. He is among the leading Democratic candidates for governor in 2026, when incumbent Republican Governor Joe Lombardo is seeking reelection. Ford previously served as Nevada Senate Majority Leader.
