Candidates
U.S. Senate
Democratic
Chris Pappas served in the U.S. House of Representatives representing New Hampshire's 1st congressional district from 2019 to 2023. He is seeking the Democratic nomination for New Hampshire's open Senate seat created by Senator Jeanne Shaheen's retirement. Pappas previously served in the New Hampshire Executive Council and operated his family's Puritan Backroom restaurant in Manchester.
Republican
Kelly Ayotte served as a U.S. Senator from New Hampshire from 2011 to 2017, then as New Hampshire's Attorney General before that. She won the New Hampshire governorship in 2024. She is now considered a leading Republican candidate to reclaim the Senate seat being vacated by Senator Jeanne Shaheen, though she has not yet formally announced a Senate bid.
