Chris Van Hollen has represented Maryland in the U.S. Senate since 2017. He previously served in the U.S. House of Representatives for eight terms, including as ranking member of the House Budget Committee. He sits on the Senate Appropriations and Banking committees and has been a consistent voice for progressive economic and social policy.
